Local Queen Anne boutique announced Wednesday that it will close permanently on June 30th.

It is a sad day in Seattle as local Queen Anne business, Peridot Boutique says goodbye to long time, loyal customers. Peridot Boutique started in 2004 in a quaint shop on Lower Queen Anne Avenue. The three friends and co-founders were determined to establish a uniquely curated women's apparel boutique. The boutique, which was often featured in Seattle Magazine and Seattle Met Magazine, had a clean interior aesthetic that complemented their fashion-forward, price conscious clothing.

They announced their temporary closure due to the Coronavirus in mid-March, after the cancellation of their Kendra Scott pop-up. On May 13th the shop announced on Instagram and Facebook that it has decided to permanently close its doors June 30th. The temporary closure made their decision final. Their lease is up at the end of June and have decided not to renew. The company stated their closure was due to, “a variety of reasons, both personal and the progressive cost of running a brick and mortar business in Seattle.”

Robin Kilwine, of West Coast sales for Dolce Vita Footwear, commented on Instagram saying, “Gonna miss working with you! Best of luck on your next adventure” with a heart emoji. Many of their loyal customers commented with messages of best wishes and lamenting their demise. Among the commenters were also fellow Queen Anne business, Foundation Seattle and Holly Cline Skincare.

On Facebook, barre instructor and front desk manager at Premiere Fitness in Yakima, Jill Klepach commented, “This saddens me deeply. You are some of the kindest women I know who put your whole hearts into the boutique and your customers.” The post continued saying, “When I lived in Seattle it made my day to come into your storefront and get such a highly personalized and friendly first-name basis shopping experience with the warmest smiles. You will be missed by so many of us!”

Real Estate Broker at Keller Williams, Lindsey Sargent added, “I’m so sorry to hear this. You have been [sic] been one of my favorite parts of the Queen Anne community for so many years now. “

The store is still operating online through June 30th and offering virtual shopping via FaceTime, curbside pickup, and free delivery within the Queen Anne and Magnolia neighborhoods. Currently, they are running a 25% off closeout sale with code “SAVE25” at checkout.

They expressed their gratitude to the community stating, “We’ve loved being a part of the Queen Anne community and are beyond thankful for our customers.” Seattle PR agency Gossip and Glamor is set to release an update with more information on their closure.
